WET SCRUBBERS

Wetted gas scrubbers are the most commonly used products to neutralize noxious gasses or gasses that produce an unpleasant odour.

The principle lies in venting the gas to be neutralized up through a packed bed of fill material – most commonly a loosely packed bed of small injection-moulded plastic shapes. The fill material provides a large surface area onto which is sprayed a suitable neutralizing chemical. The gas to be treated flows up through the bed and is neutralized before it continues up the venting tower.

Ademister fitted to the tower ensures the gas is dry and free from any remnant chemicals.

In the past, Wet scrubbers have almost entirely been produced from fiberglass, however this method is rapidly giving way to construction from High density polyethylene and Polypropylene. The use of these materials results in lower cost (due to fabrication with our automated butt-welder) and the ability to completely customize the diameter and height of the scrubber without the use of expensive mandrels.

The bed itself is easily fabricated from sheet utilising our CNC cutting machines.
